High Positive Ribs with Cannelure Negative Ribs
This design eliminates the need for a spacer, where a regular separator and corrugated perforated PVC spacer are used, and replaces them with a one-piece separator. This design will increase acid volume, reduce electrical resistance, eliminate undesirable PVC components for recycling and significantly reduce material cost.

Cannelure Ribs (mini-ribs) on Negative Side
Cannelure ribs can be provided on the opposite side of the regular larger size positive rib pattern. Cannelure ribs can also be provided in conjunction with non-woven fabric lamination reinforcing of the separator. This design will improve battery performance by providing more space between the negative plate and the separator, promoting the transportation of gas and acid as well as the retention of acid to keep the plate and the separator wetted.
